Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell down the steps and hit my elbow three days ago. The area that is bothering me is the small bone sticking out on my pinky side sticking out. It is very swollen and bruised. It was sore to touch but tonight it is hurting very badly and swollen. It appears there is a hard swollen area from that bone in towards my inner elbow. When looking at elbow bone anatomy online it appears it the the epicondyle bone on my pinky side.

Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray/MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance.
Meanwhile you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid lifting weight and rest well.
Hi thanks for your question. You are not clear in your question what you want to know from us. Any way you have injured your elbow resulting in bruises and small swelling which has now increased and is more painful. Small swelling which you had developed after injury is a haematoma (collection of blood under skin and muscle). Most probably bruise and haematoma have got super added bacterial infection which has increased the swelling. Fracture of any bones involved in elbow joint cannot be ruled out. I would suggest you to consult an orthopedician who may examine you to rule out fracture of any bone involved in elbow joint. He/she may advice you X ray of elbow joint. You may need a course of antibiotic and analgesic anti inflammatory drugs (pain killers) Hope this answers your question.
