Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Had an MRI of the R elbow after years of elbow pain, thought it was just tennis elbow. MRI reports lists dx as: thinning of the medial joint, marrow edema greatest at the coronoid. No fx seen, no fx lines. Small amount of joint effusion and minor tendonitis. No tears. Mild enlargement and increased T2 signal of the ulnarnerve with no gross impinging lesion. How are these things generally treated?
Based on your description of symptoms and MRI findings, I suspect form of Inflammatory arthritis in your elbow joint. It could be Rheumatoid arthritis, Tuberculous arthritis, Gouty arthritis etc. A thorough evaluation by hematological parameters is necessary to establish a possible diagnosis.
Any simple antiinflammatory medicine like Advil or Aleve will help in temporary alleviation of pain and swelling.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
