Episodes Of Vomiting, Swollen Eyes, Sore Throat After Food Got Choked In Throat. How To Get Relief?
I was choking on a piece of food. I finally got it lose but not after a horrible episode of vomiting and feeling like I was being torn inside out. It has been about 15 minutes. I am breathing better but I am shaking and my eyes are swollen and I have patchy spots all under my eyes and all over my face. I have a sore throat and my ears hurt. Is there anything I can do?
Thank you for consulting HCM. The lining of ur esophagus (food pipe) might have gotten traumatized because of forceful retching. And your eyes have become swollen and red spots are because of blood vessel congestion. All u need is some rest and some soothing warm fluid like milk or warm chocolate. Hopefully u will be fine very soon. Try to avoid eating quickly to let it not happen again. Chewing a food properly before swalloing is a good habit and it is better for digestion as well as safety from choking. Regards.
