Euphoric Feeling After Being Put On Percocets After Football Injury. Any Non Narcotic Medication?
does tylenol with codeine cause euphoria and if so what do i do now because my son was put on percocets for a football injury and he seems to be enjoying them and when he does take them it masks the pain and then he feels he can do anything he wants adding to his injuries. I had spoken to the doc because I am seeing changes in him and he is a junior in high school and is a wide receiver. Is there something that is non narcotic because he seems to get euphoric over nothing and has energy and I am just getting scared he will become addicted if not already. Linda
It is a narcotic medication. One that is abused due to its affects. Depending on the gravity of the injury he may be able to reduce the pain to a tolerable level with Tylenol and ibuprofen. It is a very serious issue and one that should be addressed with the doctor that is monitoring the issue. Without knowing anything further about the situation I would not feel comfortable with suggesting other medications. Good luck!!
