Excess Hair On Lower Back, Stomach, Breasts, Slightly Over Weight. Could Weight Be The Problem?
hi im a 15 year old girl and i have excessive hair mainly on my lower back and stomach and some on my breasts, i dont think i have pcos because my periods arent irregular and i dont have facial hair. i am slightly over weight and ive started getting healthy, could my weight be the problem? if i loose weight could hair growth decrease? thanks
Hello, Having more hair ( hirsutism ) with excess weight can be a sign of PCOS. It is found that in 20% of females suffering from PCOS have normal menstrual cycle. You should consult a Gynecologist for proper investigations and evaluation of your clinical condition. Loosing weight is the most important treatment for PCOS but it doesn't have any role in reversal of excess hair growth. However there are various treatments available which can take care of extra hair. At the moment, most important point is to rule out PCOS. Thanks
