Exhausted Due To Muscular Pain In Throat And Tongue When Swallowing. Related To Cervical Rib?

I have horrible throat and tongue pain when I swallow. It isn t a typical sort throat with inflamed tissues, it is actual muscular pain. The pain is excruciating and seems to intensify at night. What can this be? It has been 8 days. My physician said it is a virus and will have to run its course but I am exhausted and not getting any sleep due to the pain. Could it have anything to do with a cervical rib?

Hi and thanks for the query
Lokks like you have an upper respiratory tract infection.
It is not a muscular pain.
If its been 8 days and not getting any better then you need to see your physician again. You may require a course of antibiotic and a good anti inflammatory .
Please follow some general measures like
1) Drink plenty of fluids
2) Avoid cold foods from the refrigerator.
3) Get plenty of rest.
4) Avoid using air conditioning and fan.
5) Eat vitamin c rich foods like oranges and sweet lime.
Take care
