Experiencing Blockage In My Nose And That Results In Snoring During Night
Hi!
Since last 3-4 weeks, I am feeling some blockage in my nose due to which I am probably using my mouth pretty often to breathe. This has also resulted in my snoring at night. I have started taking steam since few days and I don't snore then. However if I miss steam for 2-3 days, I again snore. Pls advise.
Hello, Nasal blockade may be caused by various causes like infections, cold, allergies.I just advise you go to an ENT doctor lets check your upper respiratory tract for any pathology like adenoids or others.Adenoids are common cause of mouth breathing and frequent infections. For symptomatic relief you can use nasal decongestant drops like xylometazoline or oxymetazoline etc.Do regular steam inhalations, its very useful. Hope this helps. Thank you.
Hi. The good point is your snoring stops merely on steam inhalation indicate the problem may be due to inspisated mucus with may be enlargement of normal masses ( turbinates ) in the nose. Yet it is advisable to have an ENT endoscopy and confirm the diagnosis of blockage. One should not be happy for a temporary relief. Also try nasal decongestant drops in a reducing frequency over days/ weeks. Go for a CT/ MRI if your ENT Surgeon feels so. Proper diagnosis is of utmost importance.
