Experiencing Darkening Of My Urine, Leg Soreness And Fever After Taking Medicines
I am on Primaquine after having been on malarone for 3 months as a preventative measure and have experienced darkening of my urine leg soreness bad back soreness and a fever that lasted for 24hrs I am away from my doctor and am wondering if this is caused by the primaquine and if I should continue to take it? I am a otherwise healthy male age 30 very physically fit.
Primaquine may cause hemolysis, if you have G-6-PD deficiency. hence dark urine. Discontinue drug Primaquine, if marked darkening of the urine or there is a sudden decrease in hemoglobin (check your CBC-complete blood count and a blood test for G-6-PD status).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
