Hi, I am awaiting an appointment with an opthamologist for some distortion in the vision of my right eye. I have a pre-condition for glaucoma, and have some indications of diabetes. My grandmother went blind from glaucoma many years ago, and before they had treatments for it. My mother has dry eye macular degeneration. I had been experiencing blurry vision for a year or so, which I had associated with normal diminishing eyesite, since I am 50 years old. I know that there is a chance for me coming down with one of these conditions. For about 5 weeks now, I have experienced a near perfect circle of distortion right of center, and like I mentioned earlier, in the right eye. Here is what I am wondering... About 6 weeks ago I spattered very hot bacon grease in the area of distortion. I remember that it hurt, but having blurry vision fairly regularly, I forgot about it until the following week, when I noticed the distortion as I closed my left eye to rub my lid. I wondered if I may have damaged the lens of my eye, if that is even possible, considering how quick the eye can heal?
