Experiencing Heart Palpitations Last Night That Lasted 1 Hour. Difficulty

Experiencing heart palpitations last night that lasted 1 hour. Difficulty "catching my breath" no noticable SOB. Nothing seemed to precipitate it. I was in bed reading, got sleepy and the minute I laid down my heart palpitations started. Felt like my heart was doing gymnatics, could not fall asleep which is out of the ordinary for me. Sat up and and felt better and paliptations were less intense. I have an implantable device under the skin that designed to detect abnormal rhythms for 8 months now beause I passed out in front my class while teaching. For the last 2 months I had no palpitations that I needed to respond to. Never had ones to last this long. Should I report to my cardiologist?
