Experiencing Problem During Urination Being A Type 2 Diabetic

Hello, I ve been peeing little bits at a time, and it switches from night to day. An uncomfortable burning sensation always lingers and then I have to pee more droplets again and again. I have type two diabetes. It s been very difficult to sleep some nights because of this peeing issue. Could you offer me some advice on how to soothe it or anything? Thanks!

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

There are several possibilities here. From the query I am not fully able to understand if you have fever. your age and gender, and other details like is there burning in urination?

There are a couple of possibilities.

One is that this may be a urinary tract infection.. The possibility is high espeacially in females and more so in diabetics. So getting a urine routince and culture may help

Second is the possibility of benign protratic hypertrophy. This is a small gland located above the urethra where is arises from the urinary bladder. I would suggest a usg abdomen with pelvis and serum PSA to rule this out.

A third possibility is a renal calculi or obstruction. Again the usg may be able to tell us something, though of course an mri is better

Finally get a kft done. We need to make sure that you are not developing a possible kidney dysfunction. this is common in long standing diabetes

keep your sugars well controlled/

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
