Trans Flap reconstruction Breast Surgery. I had reconstruction after a mastectomy 20 yrs. ago. I had a mesh inserted into an incision that went from my left pelvic bone to the right pelvic bone area. Recently I have experienced severe lifestyle altering pain. I had a CT scan !/9/14 that revealed all of that area. However, not once in response to my question about the possible breaking down of this mesh, I did not receive an answer. I was told to see a Surgeon. My other main complaint was a feeling that there was a definite shifting of "something" going on. I had experienced a "falling down" feeling on the left side of my torso. At that time, I just sat down for a while until the discomfort subsided. In Dec.the discomfort came back with a vengence. I felt a bulge on the right side, and sometimes when I turn to my right side when lying down, I feel a shift to the left. It sometimes expands upward above the incision site. The discomfort has subsided somewhat. I was taken off Ambien for sleep, and now use Xzanex for sleep Since then, there has been a definite decrease in pain, but the discomfort remains which keeps me from excersize, housework and any physical work that includes bending down, climbing stairs, anything that puts undue pressure on an already weak area of my abdomen. Have their other women like me who have had similar experiences. Am I correct in thinklng that something is going on with this mesh??
