My neurologist mumbled something to me my first MRI. He then gave me a referral for a second MRI. The referral describes Left parasagittal frontal lobe, and ? underlying infiltrative lesion. c/o poor memory. MY QUESTION which I didn t get to ask my neurologist is What is the preliminary diagnosis please and differential diagnoses? NB my neurologist doesn t yet know about my years of history of high cholesterol. Having brain cancer won t bother me, I can t face another 30 or so yrs of this mental illness. Are you able to give me an idea of alternative diagnoses please. Thank you very much, Jill daines
The mention of a left parasagittal frontal lobe suspected infiltrative lesion is not definitive of a lesion. It needs to be reviewed by a second MRI I suppose. This is mainly to eliminate doubts and come to a set of differential diagnosis. If you do not have any acute neurological problems then you need not worry for any serious condition.
