Extreme Fatigue, Joint Pain In Knees, Headache, Fluctuating Fever. History Of Being Bitten By Tick. Possible Lyme Disease?

I think I have Lyme disease. An express care facility took a blood test, but say results wont be back in until maybe Wednesday. I feel terrible. I've been bitten by a tick a few weeks ago, but did not see a rash, so stupid me did not worry. Currently, I have extreme fatigue, joint pain in knees, headaches, and fluctuating fever. Would an ER be able to diagnose me faster, so I may begin treatment earlier? Thank you.

Hi, Don't worry, you didn't have a bulls eye rash, this is a plus point to you for excluding the lymes disease. One or two days delay is not to be worried, so let the result come then you can use medicines. More over the treatment for the other causes and lymes disease are almost same.
Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your concern in this forum,

Ticks usually carries the lyme bacteria...as you have history of tick bite so you should not neglect this...

Its not madetory that everybody will get target bull's eye pattern of rash..disease may progress furthur without producing rash in some people...

It usually affect joints,nervous system,skin..etc...

Its curable with antibiotic in early stage...

Proper investigation is required...you can go for detection of lyme antibodies in blood...

Consult with Physician...

Get well soon...

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Your current symptoms show signs of infection and that all possible loci of infection need to be ruled out i.e septicemia, malaria, UTI etc before we start looking at a rare autoimmune diseases such as lupus.
I will suggest you go to the ER for quick evaluation and treatment.
You might require only a course of antibiotics and antipyretics to get rid of your symptoms.

Hope this helps
