Eye Pulsating Occasionally Throughout The Day, Drink Caffeinated Drinks. What Does It Mean?
WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN MY LEFT EYE BEATS OCCASIONALLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY. IT S MORE OF A PULSING BEAT OF MY EYELID EVERY COUPLE SECONDS. THEN IT GOES AWAY FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN COMES BACK. I AM 33YR AND I DO NOT DRINK CAFFINATED DRINKS, I AM STARTING TO THINK THAT I MAY HAVE A PARTIALLY BLOCKED VEIN OR ARTERY IN THE LEFT EYE.
Hi,
Don't worry. A blocked vein/artery won't cause this symptom.
Eye twitching /myokymia in medical terms are due to involuntary muscle contractions. This could be due to stress, eye strain, allergy, dry eyes,Nutritional imbalance or increased caffeine /alcohol intake too.
If it is persisting for more than 2 days, please get a direct examination done by an ophthalmologist to rule out any above mentioned reasons or a neurological one called blepharospasm /hemifacial Spasm.
All the above conditions are treatable, so look for a solution by having a stress free life or consult at the earliest.
Hope this helps. Take care.
HI, Maxout,
Thanks for query.
From your symptoms it seems that you might be having twitching of your eyelid.
There is involuntary muscle twitching to some irritation of nerve endings giving you this problem.
There is no significance of this movements.
Ok and bye.
