Dear Sir/ Madam Thanks for your query to us. 1. Amytriptyline due to its anticholenergic effect can be associated with fast heart rate. However since you had episodic increase in heartbeat, this may be related to a heart rhythm disorder. If you had associated loss of consciousness/ vertigo/ blackout you must see your doctor immediately. Amytriptyline is known to cause heart rhythm disorder in the setting of prolonged QT interval. 2. Although evaluation of chest pain depend upon your age and other risk factors, Amytriptyline is known to be associated with precipitation of anginal heart disease. I would request you to see your physician on priority as you seem to have some adverse effects due to the drug. Sincerely Sukhvinder
