Father Passed Away Due To Lower Back Bleed. Any Other Cause For Hemorrhaging Blood Vessels Besides Trauma?

Hi, my father recently passed away and I suspect the reason for his death was neglect on the part of the hospital. He went into the ICU for a stroke but passed 3 weeks later from a lower back bleed. His brain was doing fine and he could move both sides but he had had a trach put in as well as a peg feeding tube the day he passed so he was pretty out of it and not very well able to communicate if he was in pain. I am wondering about what the cause could have been in regards to this lower back bleed... The doctor said he had no idea why and was very shocked, and they didn't find out about the lower back bleed until 10 minutes before he passed. I found a test result from a few months before he died about the likelihood of an abdominal aneurysm and the diameter of it was fine and stated he was not at risk leading me to believe he did not have an aneurysm. This along with the fact that he did not have hemophilia or any blood clotting disorder makes me think that they either bumped him hard on the back or hit a blood vessel during the peg feeding tube surgery. I am not looking to make a lawsuit or anything of that nature, just wanting to know how he could have died. Could it have just been a muscle strain that caused a vessel to rupture when they were moving him? (he had been immobile for about 3 weeks- at least he hadn't been moving his back) Is there another common cause of hemorrhaging blood vessels besides trauma/ clot disorders/ or aneurysms? Thank You very much for any information regarding this.

Hello,
Very sad to hear your loss.

Some times the hemodynamics (flowing tendency) of blood changes during long duration hospital stay and in stroke patients. This might have happend in your father.
However this is not the only reason for the problem.

May his soul rest in peace.
