Fatigue, Abdominal Pain, Bloating, Frequent Urination, Loose Bladder. Having Hypothyroidism. Any Ideas?

Hi, I had a question about some symptoms i've been having. I figure I should ask a gynecologist about a couple of these symptoms but I'm not sure if you could help me out with the rest of them. Symptoms include: fatigue, severe abdominal pain and discomfort after eating, bloating, frequent urination, loose bladder, nocturia, swollen left outer labia, weight fluctuations, swelling of the feet and hands, frequent constipation, heartburn, heart palpitations, mood swings, etc. I work at an Urgent Care so i'm familiar with all of these i'm just a little concerned for myself I guess. I eat very healthy and exercise at least two days a week. I also have hypothyroidism but am not taking any medications. Any insight??

hi,
we surely can help you though if you would have mentioned your age, describing and diagnosing your symptoms could have been much easier..
never the less, all your symptoms basically points towards hormonal imbalance which could be menopause,if you are near about the particular age.
the other symptoms are pointing towards diabetes which could be confirmed by investigations.you also need to check the severity of thyroid hormones level as hypothyroidism could also be one of the culprit for the existing symptoms.so my dear, please visit your nearest physician and start with the required treatment.
hoping for the best for you.

Hello Good Evening,

It is strange, if you know that you have hypothyroidism, then why are you not taking medications, nothing will be helpful if you will not continue with medications, regular checkup and investigations.

In Hypothyroidism, there are many symptoms occurred as follows:

Appearance: Thin brittle fingernails, Dry itchy skin, Weight gain and water retention, Hair loss.

Neurological: Depression.

Neuromuscular: Depressed reflexes, Hypotonia, Muscle cramps and joint pain, Mood instability, Irritability, Constipation.

Constitutional: Fatigue, Sleepiness, Cold intolerance, Decreased sweating.

Cardiovascular: Bradycardia, Elevated serum cholesterol.

Endocrine: Female infertility, menstrual irregularities, Hyperprolactinemia and galactorrhea.

You have many of them, so you might be a case of it.

Iodine deficiency is the most common cause of hypothyroidism worldwide.

Stress is known to be a significant contributor to thyroid dysfunction; this can be environmental stress as well as lesser-considered homeostatic stress such as fluctuating blood sugar levels and immune problems.

So you should be go through Thyroid profile, which is a blood test, followed by medication (Tab. Eltroxin) should be started under supervision of your GP.
You also should go for fasting blood sugar level to rule out possibility of Diabetes.

Regards,

Dr. Naresh Jain.
