Fatigue, Pain In Knees, Ankles And Hips. Have Arthritis In Left Ankle. Presence Of Ticks At Home. On Cardiac Rehab. Lyme Disease?
Hi, I am a 77year old male, and I am concerned about to possibility of having lyme disease. What compounds the issue is that I have had rhumatoid arthritis in the past and have arthritis in my left ankle now. I feel tired, knees , ankles and hips ache. My gluteus maximus on both sides ache. We have ticks in the area, have taken them from our cat, took one off my wife and two off myself-one on my stomach and one in my hair during a shower. All were the larger variety not the tiny ones. Have not found a bullseye. Both of my ticks were 3 weeks ago. I am undergoing cardiac rehab and my wife radiation.
THanks for using HCM.Lyme's Disease(LD) has been known to occur in 20% cases without the diagnostic bull's eye /target lesions. The history of exposure and clinical symptoms may raise suspicion of LD.Use of serological tests like ELISA/Western Blot Test may yield a clue as these tests are not fully conclusive. It wouild depend on the doctor treating you whether he feels it is a LD attack or just RA causing the fatihue and pain.A course of Doxycycline may help if LD is suspected.
