Feces Having Big Lumps, Bleeding From Anal. Passing Lot Of Gas, Lost Weight. Problem?
Hello doctor, I am worried I might suffer from some kind of parasite or something. I am a 20year old boy. But what really made me worried was when I took a poop eariler today. The feces had some kinds of red, very big lumps on them and I bled from my anal. Lately I have ''passed'' ALOT of gasses and lost weight, not that I mind but I haven't been eating heliter than normal but the pounds seem to slowly decrease anyway, any idea what is wrong? or if you can spot a hint to something?
Bleeding from the anal region could be of two main origins depending on the type of blood. If it is fresh, the commonest cause is hemorrhoids, and if dark, its most probably a digestive tract (upper bleeding). A careful physical examination is needed in this case to be very sure. Lumps from stool, especially when observed from the first time are generally due to constipation, allergy to a particular food and at times could be very normal. However, in your case, considering you are experiencing some weight loss and gas, it could be very interesting to get an examination to better visualize the colon to exclude a tumor of the colon (colonoscopy). The opinion of a gastroenterologist in this case is of utmost importance. Thanks and hope this helps. Kind regards.
