Feel Pain In Canine Tooth, When Rubbing With Fingers. Solution For Pain?
my top left canine tooth is bothering me if i rub finger across the front of the tooth its very sensitive and if i rubb the gum it sends a pain to the tooth and even when i put my makeup on with sponge i cant rub the area with out putting my tongue there on the gum to protect it and it also hurts to tap the tooth BUT it does not hurt to push up on the tooth or put my teeth together??????
hello there, canine tooth is the corner stone of your face and gives you beauty so please do not neglect and consult your dentist soon. sensitive gums suggests that your gums are inflammed, pain on tapping the tooth shows that there is some kind of root infection or pulpitis (inflammation of pulpal nerves). X ray examination of the affected area is needed followed by treatment. i hope that helps you.
the sensitivity on canine tooth can be due to many reasons-
cervical abrasion
gum infection like gingivitis or periodontitis
deep dental caries.
an x-ray of the tooth will help to rule out the cause.
visit your dentist for further treatment.
use soft-bristled toothbrush and thermokind toothpaste to clean your teeth.

Based on the symptoms and location the most probable reason could be an abrasion cavity. Abrasion cavities are caused due to improper brushing technique.
I suggest you to change your toothbrush immediately and buy a soft bristles toothbrush of a reputed company. You can use a desensitiser toothpaste for timebeing till you get in touch with your dentist.
Please do not forget to ask your dentist the correct brushing technique as suitable for your teeth.
Thanks and Regards
Hi,
Thank you for the query .
over brushing leading to cervical abrasion of the teeth may be the cause for the senistivity .. if the abraded area is deeper definitly you will experience pain on tapping the teeth .. get a x- ray done to rule out the area abraded and then go for the resotartion or rootcanal treatment depending on the area involved..
