Feeling Constipated With Heartburn, Use Withdrawal Method For Sex. What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy?

I have not yet missed my period but have been constipated, with heartburn once and a while. I also have been more tired than normal. My husband and I have been using the withdrawal method or I wash it out after. What are the chances I could be pregnant? I won t be able to test until 6 more days so I m just curious.

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

The part of your question that worries me the most is the "I wash it out after" part. This implies that, on occasion, your husband does ejaculate into the vagina. Even in the setting of vaginal washes or douches, your risk for pregnancy using this technique is extremely high. I would check a pregnancy test now and again when you would expect your next period. The withdrawal method is effective, but you cannot effectively wash out the vagina and expect this to reliably prevent pregnancy.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
