Feeling Lump In The Throat. Is It Sinusitis? Need Antibiotics?

I have a feeling when i swallow theres a lump inside my throat that feels sharp, its nothing you can see or feel on the outside. I've been to an ent that ran the light through my nose and didn't see anything. Then went to a regular md who did a strep test and nothing and decided to treat me for sinusitis. I'm not sure either of them are correct. I am a singer and its interfering with my job because I also have the constant feeling that I have something dripping down the back of my throat and it makes my voice crack. If it is sinusitis, can that cause the feeling I'm experiencing? Will the antibiotics he treated me with completely clear it, or will it return?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello Friend
Welcome to H.C.M
With little information and as per the history you have given and the clinical findings you may be suffering with chronic pharyngitis with sinusitis. usual presenting symptoms are foreign body sensation/sticky sensation/ or somthing dripping in oral cavity behind the nose. you have been provisinally diagnosed correct. I usually prescribe my patients with oral antibiotic along with antihistaminics for one week and nasal steroidal spray for atleast one month.
But still I would suggest you to consult the Specialist if you don’t get relief as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed. Please don’t hesitate to consult and ask for any more query. i will be pleased to answer.
With best wishes for a speedy cure
Yours sincerely
