Feeling Nausea, Diarrhea, Gaining Weight. Blood Tests Came Normal. What Could Be The Reason?
Hello, Everyday for way over 6 months now I have been waking up in the morning feeling nausea, once I've been to the toilet and moved around I then have diarrhoea. This happens a couple of times before I can go back to bed as it almost feels I'm constipated. I have had blood tests from the doctors testing for many things but the tests came back negative and now I'm left in the dark to wonder about why this is happening as weight gain is very hard for me being 7st at the age of 19 years and general day to day life because of this. Thankyou
Your weight gain is most likely caused by fluid accumulation in tissues (swelling) due to low protein intake and/or absorption from intestines. This is caused by nausea and diarrhea. The most common reason of chronic diarrhea is bacterial infection. Other reasons like hyperthyroidism or Crohns disease should be also considered.
I suggest you to have stool tests and stool culture done at first. Colonoscopy should be next if nothing will be found.
Hope this will help. Regards.
