Feeling Of Needles In Calves, Tightness In Muscles A Day After Running Longer Than Usual. Remedy?
I m an average runner and went on a longer run than usual on Sunday. The day after my calves were sore, nothing unusual. Now, it feels like needles are in my calves and I can tell my muscles are tight but it s extremely painful to walk. What can I do for the pain and to get back to running. I ve been biking the last couple days to not put strain on my calves.

Giving suddenly your muscles some extra work to do, can result in muscle fatigue and muscle soreness.
Since you are an average runner and you ran more on one day can result in muscle pain. I think you should give rest to your muscles, so avoid biking also for few days.
Pain can be relieved by rest, hot fomentation and taking pain killers with muscle relaxant under medical supervision. You can apply locally on calf muscles, some pain relieving gel for relief.
