Feeling Of Swelling In Throat And Neck After Taking Simvastatin For High Lipids. Advice

Hi I just started taking simvastatin for high lipids, my doctor ordered 20mg a day. i have always been sensitive to some meds and i was somewhat anxious about taking it but i decided to just break it in half for the first week. Last nite i took the whole 20mg and today i don't feel so good, this may sound crazy to you but my throat and neck feel as though it is swollen. during the first week of taking half i felt that same way a few days but not as much as today.when it happens it seems to be by late afternoon. Thanks

Hi
You have history of sensitivity to some medicines. You developed swelling in throat and neck after taking 20mg of Simvastatin and had same complaint while taking half of it. Most likely that you develope Allergic reactions in the form of Angioedema to Simvastatin. You better stop it and cosult your Doctor.
Regards
Ranjit
