Feeling Sick, Cold Internally & Pain In Head

Hi Dr. Samuel. Yesterday evening at around eleven I was starting to feel sick, and I was sick and been sick a few times during the night. I was really hot as well but had an internal coldness that didn t want to go away. My head hurt a bit as well. I am aware that I hadn t eaten a lot during the day and only slept three hours but could that really be the reason why?? Thank you so much!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

From your description, it sounds it could be due to fever might be viral. Lack of food and sleep doesn't produce fever along with chills. You need to take rest and see a doctor to identify the cause of the fever.

In the interim you can follow these instructons:
1. Maintain a temperature chart: measure your temperature every 4th hour.
2. Take complete bed rest
3. Over the counter anti pyretics like paracetamol, cold sponge bath to control temperature.
4. Have healthy diet, avoid cold and refrigerated foods and drinks.

Hope this answers your query. If any further questions, will be happy to help you.
