Feeling Sleepy Early In Evening. Taking Methadone Therapy, Opiate, Xanax. Side Effect Of Medicine?
Hi Dr. Grief. My grandson is on Methadone therapy....he takes the dosage (liquid) at 8 a.m. And lately he has been coming home around 5 or 6 pm so sleepy that he can't carry on a conversation. Could he be taking an opiate or xanax in addition to his methadone? Or is it the methadone causing this extreme sleepiness 9 or 10 hours later?

Yes this could be side effect of the drug he is taking, but another possibility and can not be rule out " changed sleeping patron " and if this would be reason then will come around soon,, for the drug side effect have words with his Doctor, have nice day.
