Can Subtex Be Taken After Lortab 5mg/500?
i tore my lateral lligament and mcl 5 days ago, i went to the er earlier and im in severe pain. This was my first doctor appointment. he gave me lortab 5mg\500. I took ten of the lortab over the course of the day. i also have a 4mg subutex. WOuld it be okay if i took the subutex.

Lortab contains both Hydrocodone and Paracetamol or Acetaminophen that is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. On the other hand, Subutex contains Buprenorphine that is an opioid medication is used to treat opioid addiction, stress, anxiety, mild to moderate pain etc. Again, Hydrocodone is also an opioid which is one of the ingredients of Lortab. Using Buprenorphine like Subutex along with Hydrocodone like Lortab that may cause central nervous system depression and can lead to life threatening complications such as respiratory distress, coma or death. A dose adjustment or more frequent careful monitoring by the prescribing physician is required to safely take both medications.
