Feeling Spasms In The Chest. Normal EKG And BP. Reason?
Sometimes I feel like a thump or a spasm in the middle upper part of my chest, it comes and goes sometimes i feel it when i'm sitting down or walking or just move my arms a certain way. Sometimes i feel it more after i eat. I went to Urgent Care had an EKG and was checked out everything came out normal. BP was normal. Why is this happening?
Chest pain can be related to any of the structures in the chest from the skin inwards.Pain can result from : (1)skin rashes such as herpes zoster
(2) inflammation or trauma to any of the soft tissue structures such as the muscles
(3) costochondritis which is inflammation of the areas where the ribs meets the sternum
(4) related to the esophagus such as gastroesophageal reflux disease or spasm of the esophagus
(5)related to the lungs or its lining
(6)related to the heart
The pain may not related to the heart, heart related pain normally occurs on activity and is relieved by rest. It may be associated with shortness of breath and palpitations.
You may want to consider visiting your doctor for an evaluation to determine what the exact cause of the pain.
I hope this helps
