Feeling Tired, Sad. Have Symptoms Of Underactive Thyroid. Had Thyroid Removed
I've been feeling incredibly tired, very lethargic & even sad for months now I'm having almost all of the symptoms of an underactive thyroid. I had my left thyroid removed about 18mths ago but was told the right side was healthy & was picking up the slack my last blood test 6mths ago said all was OK but I feel really yuk .
Hi, you have many systems other than thyroid, and the tests said that the thyroid is O.K. it might be some thing else other than the thyroid. The symptoms are vague, and cause may be anemia, malnutrition, or any chronic disease. I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You have to get the tests done for confirmation of the disease. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, You are having symptoms of tiredness and lethargy, they may indicate underactive thyroid as you have undergone surgery for partial removal of Thyroid. Usually small remaining part healthy produce enough hormone to fulfill requirement of body. If your thyroid function not done recently you can get FT3,FT4 and TSH done along with complete blood count to be sure it is not due to thyroid or Anemia.
You sad mood may even point towards Depression that should be kept in mind. You may want to consult your Physician and get investigated and treatment would depend on cause ( Diagnosis). Hope this helps. Good Luck. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D
Thyroid function in body may not be what the reports mention. Since most patients are on Thyroid supplements which usually maintain Serum thyroid levels. At present, you still seem to be having a clinical hypoactive thyroid. Post partial thyroidectomy, only half your thyroid gland is burdened with the entire responsibility and is now failing. Consult your physician again asap to see if has been a drop. If yes, you may need added supplementation.
Homeopathy aims at stimulating thyroid function and not supplementing it. That way, we can avoid lifelong thyroid supplements and the physical complaints too. Consult a homeopath for details.
Thank you.
