Feeling Weak, Neck And Side Face Hurts. Diagnosed With Cyst On Sinus. Given Antibiotics And Follow ENT
My cousin was feeling bad, kind of weak and went to the ER. The doctor there drew blood, ran tests and gave her a disk of her x-rays. He diagnosed her as having a cyst on her sinuses. He gave her antibiotics with an IV and kept her for a day and told her to follow up at the ENT specialist. Her appointment is Friday. What do you think is wrong? She also said the back of her neck and side of her face is hurting. What you say?
I can understand your concern regarding your cousins problem
Some points you may consider regarding her problem: 1. If the doctor has diagnosed as having cyst in the sinus then in all probability she may have sinusitis. Unfortunately x ray is not very sensitive in diagnosing the same. 2. Your ENT may do a nasal endoscopy and CT of the sinuses for proper evaluation of the sinuses. If he does that you may get back to me with the reports and I will be able to help you out better 3. You may advice her to start steam inhalation at least three times in a day and not take anything cold 4. Finally a cyst in the sinus does not mean that she has tumor or any mass. It only indicates an infection in the sinuses so you do not have to worry much. This is actually a common finding and easily treatable
take care and get well soon
