Fell From Tub, Hit Shin On Bathroom Floor, Pain, Knee Constantly Popping. Deep Bone Bruise Or Something Worse?

I fell recently after getting out of the tub and hit my shin on my bathroom floor. I now have pinpoint pain to the touch on my shin above and below of the pinpoint area. Bruising is a light gray coloring. My knee has been constantly popping since injury and have a ligament on the top of my foot that is raised higher than the other foot. Is this just a deep bone bruise or something worse? Thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
If you are walking and able to squat normally, then a serious bony injury is ruled out.
Propably you could have developed a soft tissue contusion and hematoma at the site of impact which will be very tender to touch. It will resolve spontaneously over a period of time with simple anagesics, ice compressions and limb elevation.
Hope this helps
