Fell Off Tree With Gear On, Landed On Buttocks, Soreness, Running Fever. Risk Of Internal Injury?

My husband fell about 8 feet to the ground while descending a tree yesterday. He was roped, but the crotch of the tree gave way and he fell with about 40 lbs of gear on. Landed on his buttocks on a log. He is of course extremely sore today, but has also been running a fever on and off. Is there any risk of internal injuries and should he be seen for this?

Hi,
It will be best to consult orthopedic surgeon/surgeon immediately and get a check up and tests done to exclude any major injury.
Internal injuries should be excluded and if present needs urgent treatment
Hope your husband be well soon
