Fell On Floor On Hip And Back. Pain In Right Leg And Hip. Have Spinal Fusion. Advice?
I fell on my hard tiled bathroom floor right on my hip and back...sort of rolled. I'm having some pain down my right leg (only front) and in my hip. I just noticed that I don't have sense of touch in my lower back, on my right side also. I should also add that I've had a spinal fusion. Two 90 degree curves in lumbar and thoracic regions corrected about 10 yrs ago. They took out the hardware 8 years ago, I have some arthritis due to both surgeries and constant pain. The sciatica is sometimes bothering me but seems worse now, the numbness is new. Do I need to need to go to my orthopedist?
Hi, As you have pain and numbness, this may indicate there is a nerve injury. This may only be temporary but you should seek expert advice just incase there is something more serious at the spinal level. Also, the pain you are suffering could possibly indicate a fracture although it is more likely to be bruising to the tissues. If you need pain relief then I would suggest paracetamol and ibuprofen. I hope this information has been of help to you.
