Fell On Right Hip. Pains When Putting Pressure Or Rotate Leg, Looks Like Bruise Or Strain

I am a 19 year old female, and about 3 hours ago I fell on my right hip during basketball practice. It instantly hurt to put pressure on and right now to rotate my leg around. The pain is on the outside, upper part of my leg. We have a game tomorrow and was wondering if it sounds like a deep bruise or strain, or if I should go to the doctor?

Hi,
Thanks and welcome to the health care magic.
It depends upon the force with which the injury is sustained.
Ordinarily it should be a sprain due to tear of the ligament, which passes off with rest and pain medication.
But it is always necessary to exclude fracture by taking an x-ray.
If a fracture is suspected, immediately consult orthopedic surgeon.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
Please feel free to ask me any more queries.
Take care.
