Fever, Chills, Taken Tylenol. Should I Go To Hospital?
What does a high temp of 103.7 mean in an adult. I was fine the night before just had the chills. I was awaken with extreme chills and high fever . It did break finally after Tylenol around 5 hours later. Two days later as it is the long weekend and I live in a small town and don t want to bother the 1 doctor here, I still feel under the weather just wondering if I should make a trip to the hospital or wait till Tuesday when I have an apt. Anyway.
You should understand that fever with chills indicate some disease in body usually infection which could be Urinary tract infection, Pneumonia, Malaria, or even viral infection.
If you do not have any specific issue and fever is better with paracetamol (Tylenol) .
you can wait a day or two till your appointment is there and in the mean time you may take Tylenol to make you comfortable.
If there is something alarming like breathing difficulty, altered sensorium, severe pain it is better to seek medical help in emergency.
Hope information helps you.
Wish you good Health. Take care. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
