Fever, Sore Throat, Green Phlegm. Taken Mucinex, Methylprednisone. Help

SYMPTOMS: MAY 16-17 mild aches, fever [99.6]. MAY 18-19 extreme sore throat, heavy deep gurgly coughing with gray-green chunks coming up, fever 100.8. MAY 20 went to doctor, took treatment of methylprednisolone tablets USP dosepak 4 mg 21 tabs; cefdinir 300 mg capsules 14; albuterol inhaler 2x daily; promethazine codeine syrup for cough at hnight. Also taking Mucinex MD every 12 hrs and Tussinex during daytime in order to function. Fever gone MAY 21-22, now registering 98.2. Severe cough, feels like I herniated my right stomach muscle, OY!! Heavy sweating begins with temp at 98.2. MAY 27 throat extremely sore [raw & swollen feeling], cough somewhat better but still present, chunks becoming smaller, heavy clear mucus production so I discontinue Mucinex. MAY 28 temperature 97.8, flashes of sweating, throat very sore, swallowing becoming difficult, afraid to cough.

Thanks for posting the question to H.C.M. Forum.
Cefdinir is no doubt a one of the best antibiotic but not acted in your case.
So there is acute pain in throat ( may be due to septic pharyngitis ).
Cough may be due to infection or due to allergy.

Consult a physician and get in culture of throat swab ( E N T specialist will take it).
Exact nature of causative organism will reveal the exact nature of infection.
Sweating and uneasiness may be due to infection and constriction ( cough) of bronchi.
Difficulty in swallowing is due to acute infection in throat.
Bronchodilators will provide you some relief from cough.
