Firm Painful Knot Near Groin After Sustaining An Injury. What Could This Be?
Hi, I crashed my bicycle about two weeks ago. The handle bar was forced into my groin on the left side about half way between the bottom of my belly and the family jewels. Initially I had a large bruise and minor swelling but after a week and a half I had a golf ball sized knot developthat is tender and firm. I have been keepin it iced down but that only reduces the swelling around the knot. What could it be and should I go see my doc
Hi, Thanks for using healthcaremagic. The knot maybe a hematoma which is more likely as you just had a crash. You should undergo an USG of the groin to confirm the diagnosis which will also tell whether its liquefied or its organising. Then you can show to a surgeon who will decide accordingly whether it should be left as it is or to be operated upon. Do not neglect it as it can cause a bigger problem later on. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards,
