Five years ago, I first started to notice that I was producing sticky, thin stools somewhat regularly. After some online research, I decided to try calcium polycarbophil supplements. It actually helped, and I'd have the sticky, thin stools much less frequently.
Late last year, in an effort to get healthier, I started to transform my diet and began eliminating fried foods and fatty foods. Instead, I began eating many more fruits and vegetables. Since then, I've lost 20-25 pounds (I'm currently 26 years old, 6 foot, 3 inches and weigh 170lbs). In the last few months, the thin, sticky stools have returned with more more regularity, despite the fact that I'm still taking the calcium polycarbophil supplements daily. I have also noticed a significant increase in bloating and gas.
After some research, it appears that I may have some form of IBS. I see that fructose is known to have a negative effect on those with IBS. Could you provide some guidance on foods I should eat or some additional supplements, etc. I can consume to bulken my stools and make them less sticky.
Thanks!
