Flank Pain During Pregnancy. Dizziness, Nausea, Vomiting, Throat Pain. Something Of Concern?

Hello I am 22weeks pregnant with my first child and I have been having some pain on my left flank. The pain has came and gone four times in less then 2hrs. On a scale of 1-10 the pain was at an 8. Soon after I felt very dizzy and nauseous, then I began to vomit. Now my throat is hurting and anything I drink burns my throat. It feels like Ihave ssomething stuck in my throat and I also just got diarrhea. Is it something of concern?

Hi,
You should immediately report the matter to your consultant and get an examination done. The pain could be due to some gastroenteritis but a threatened abortion also should be kept in thought. The pain in the throat is most likely due to the tearing of the mucosa during the retching and will heal in a day or two with rest. Meanwhile, soft bland diet may be allowed for healing to accelerate. Please do not take hot, spicy and heavy food. Please take adequate rest, note the fetal movements and watch for any vaginal discharge. Hope this helps.
