Fluid Leak Out Of Right Nostril, Severe Pain In Head While Bending Down, Banged Head Earlier. Recommendations?

Hi i have a clear fluid leak out of my right nostril sometimes when i bend over and i also get a severe pain in my head when i bring my head down its not all the time but its been going on for a few months i banged my head the other day quite badly and it is still doing the above things if you could put my mind at rest that would help.

Hi,

Your history is not clear. Did you have the head trauma before developing this clear fluid leak? There is a condition called CSF leakage which can occur sometimes spontaneously, sometimes following head trauma and sometimes post surgery in the head, nose or ears. The symptoms include leakage of clear, watery fluid, usually from one nostril. Sometimes if the leak enters the throat you will feel a salty taste. If you have any such symptoms please visit an ENT specialist who will examine you with some endoscopes and conduct some tests including radiology.

A CSF leak can become infected and allow bacteria to move into the brain. Anyways, as you do not have any of such problems you need not panic. Do visit an ENT to rule out the condition.
