Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination.
Meanwhile, I advice you to perform frequent stretching of the foot and calf. Each stretch session should be preceded and followed by 10 minutes of cold application to the inflamed area. Strenuous activities should be restricted to allow the body to catch up with healing the overstressed tissues. As the pain subsides, deep massage of the plantar fascia can be accomplished by rolling the foot on a golf or tennis ball for five minutes.
Wishing you good health
Regards.

Hello. Thanks for posting your query. If there is radiographic evidence of a heel spur(calcaneum osteophytes), it is an indicator that plantar fasciitis is the source of pain. However, several conditions like calcaneal stress fracture, fat pad atrophy , tarsal tunnel syndrome, inflammatory arthritis, local infection must be ruled out.
