For A Little Over 2 Months Now, I Have Had

For a little over 2 months now, I have had a sore throat/tongue. Early into it, I lost my voice for a week, and since then, it is now (for the last month) just a painful spot on the back of my tongue, back in my throat. It only hurts when I swallow, talk loudly or sing. Pretty much any time I flex that tongue muscle. I saw a family doctor early on and we figured that it was an irritation due to post nasal drip. Which I did have. I started taking anti-histamines and the post nasal drip stopped. But I also think I have some GERD. So I cut out all alcohol, caffeine, and started to take a prescription strength of Prilosec. I have been on the Prilosec for 2 weeks now, and the pain is not subsiding, but actually getting worse some days. Do I need to see someone? And who? Which kind of doctor? Or is 2 weeks of Prilosec and diet changes not enough time to make any improvements? I would just like to know if it sounds like something serious, or not.
