For Detection Of Which Disease Is The AFB C/s Test Done ?

Gm.. My father, 50 yrs old have blood and urine infection. Urologist asked for urine culture, urine T.B. PCR & urine AFB culture. TB-PCR : Mycobcterial DNA PCR Not Detected. Urine c/s : culture_positive organism_ Escherichia Coli 100000 Amikacin, Cefotetan, Cefoxitin, Imipenem are found sensitive. Urine AFB report havn t come till now !! Is there any serious problem ? Why AFB c/s test is done ? Is cystoscopy compulsory in this case ..

AFB is acid fast bacilli.
I think antibiotics you mentioned will cure the infection.
