To trace a patient is aborted or not, depends on the duration of period of gestation... If it is just 4 weeks , then difficult.. the uterus may be seen normal like in USG... But more than 4 weeks, like 6 or 8 weeks then there will be changes in the endometrium thickening, also the uterus size may not resemble the normal range of measurements also the HCG test will be positive, which is simple and diagnostic.....
