Yes postpone-72 would be helpful in preventing pregnancy. This is due to effect of high dose of levonorgestrel hormone in this emergency contraceptive pill which prevents implantation of fertilized egg on to the uterus. Hence pregnancy is prevented even when sperms reach the uterus. This pill is 95% successful if taken within 24 hours of sexual intercourse. As you had taken the emergency contraceptive pill within 24 hours of sexual intercourse, pregnancy possibility should be very less. An emergency contraceptive should not be used as regular method of contraception. Next time use regular contraceptive pill or condoms for prevention of unwanted pregnancy.
