For What Kind Of Infection Is This Antibiotic Prescribed?

Hello Doc, Asking for a friend of Mine, she has multiple sclerosis, and offlate she has been running fever with extreme weekness. One of the doctors here has prescribed Gudcef to her. I am given to understand gudcef is an antibiotic for infection, can you just help me with some minimum background as to what kind of infections... just for my knowledge

Hello. I read your question and I understand your concern.
However the antibiotic in questions is a broad spectrum one, meaning it fights a broad range of bacteria and is used in the treatment of many diverse infections, so since the only symptoms are fever and weakness which can also be manifested in most types of infections it's difficult to point to the site of the infection from these data.
If I were to go with the most probable one, it is a urinary tract infection because they are very common in patients with multiple sclerosis.
