Forgot To Remove Tampon. Had Sex. Ended With Rashes On Penis, Muscles And Joint Pain. Worry?
Hi, I forgot a tampon inside for 4 days, we had sex and he came inside 4-5 times during those days. I took the tampon out 2 days ago and we have had sex 2 times after that. This morning he wakes up with fever, joint and muscle pain and hurt a little when he urinate. No blood and no rash on the penis. I took a cistflux yesterday before going to bed, since I felt like I had a slight candid or cistitus (happens often to me). Should we worry about tss? And should we go to the hospital?
I believe that both of you should be assessed. The presence of the tampon for 4 days would increase the risk of bacterial infection for you and it is possible , based on his symptoms , that he is also infected.
It would be best to visit your doctor who would examine both of you and may request urine samples and possibly do swabs. Antibiotics would be given.
I hope this helps
