Foul Smelling Urine. How Can This Be Avoided?
Hi doctor,
I am 24, and I have one serious problem. Some times after passing urine I get some bad smell from my underpants. I frequently do masurbation (once or twice in a week). So could you please tell me if this could be the reason why I get bad smell from my underpants after passing urine? Please help me how can this be avoided.

Welcome to HCM. You need to rule out fungal infection in the groin and pubic areas,also using talc and keeping the area dry will help.Ruling out any perianal fistula and any cyst/wound at the base of the sacrum may help.Using cotton undergarments,bathing regularly will help.masturbation in no way affects the hygiene in the area.Getting a urine examination done to rule out UTI may help.

I would like to advice to go for urine tests like routine microscopic examination and culture sensitivity.
You can be easily treated by getting some antibiotic drug according to the urine culture sensitivity report.
Go for plenty of liquids.
Masturbation can not be the reason for the bad smell.
Hygiene maintenance is very important for you.

Usually this type of bad smell is might be due to improper hygiene.
You have to wash your local parts with proper anti septic soap.
Keep proper local hygiene,even wash your garment properly.
Drink enough water and other liquids.
Consult your physician if it persist.

You should drink plenty of water so that at least 3 litres of urine is
voided in 24 hrs.
Do- Urine (Routine & Microscopy).
If there is any abnormal finding then consult your Urologist.
Keep your penis clean, wash it with water while bathing, also your underpants should be clean & washed and should be changed daily.
